Spelling Words & Phonograms for week of March 8, 2010

Dear parents,
We have a busy week coming up. On Thursday we have Picture Day and on Friday we are going to the zoo. Please remember to send your child with a sack lunch from home. No sack lunches will be provided by our food service. In addition, please remember to work with your student on their Social Studies project that is due on March 29th. I have had a couple of parents who feel that this is homework for the parents. This should not be your project, parents. You may guide them, however, please do not do it for them. Assisting them in obtaining pictures from a state travel guide for their poster, finding their state's official website, and providing supplies for the poster and maps is necessary. If you want to assist them further and have fun with them, that is fine. The report should only be one or two pages long. The poster should be a full-sized poster sheet. If you have any questions please call the school and ask to speak with me. Have fun! I have done this nearly every year and my second grade classes have so much fun with it and they feel like it is their own, which makes them feel proud to show off all their hard work during the presentation week.
